Video on the potential realities of the rezoning

VIDEO: Rezoning ‘doesn’t have to be scary’ – event at West Seattle Realty explains why

I’ve been doing a deep dive into the new zoning rules. The good news? Our block won’t transform overnight. The bad news? Speculators—often called “Dirt Dogs”—are already circling. I actually got a call from one today.

Before you talk to anyone about your property, please watch this video (jump to 1:09:40). They explain how these developers look for “deals” at the expense of residents. If you ever move, listing your home on the open market is the only way to get its real value.

You can also hear our neighbors, Jenny and Sabrina, sharing our concerns at 1:17:30. There’s a lot of debate about whether current housing policies (MHA) actually protect us, but as they discuss at 1:36:20, those rules can change in an instant.

Stay vigilant. Our advocacy matters because an informed neighborhood is much harder to exploit.
